Who The Heck is MKJ?

Let’s start at the beginning. For almost two decades now, I have explored online business and marketing.

• I started with Mommy Loves in 2003, an online boutique offering a unique collection of novelty maternity, mom, dad and grandparent gifts. Luckily, in my previous life I was a tech head-hunter, so my army of successful hires helped me do everything necessary before it was easy. And, with Google Ads, I was able to double revenue each year I was in business.
• Then, the 2008 recession hit, and I had my first entrepreneurial identity crisis. I was tossed around in the storm, and experienced great difficulty for many years disassociating myself with the failure of this business in 2013. I was slapped in the face with the biggest lessons of my career, which I still didn’t accept and implement until 2017. Yeah, I’m a bit stubborn and mischievous.
• I self published a book in 2011, and thought maybe I’d turn that into a business to help others do the same. Um, nope. Another lesson that I’m not a maintenance person. I’m a project person.
• My first podcast, Parent Entrepreneur Power, was published in January, 2014, and this was my first adventure into asking those I had admired to talk to me. I’m still embarrassed by that first recorded conversation with Pat Flynn, and I’m extremely proud of the 350+ episodes I published. My young sons joined me at the mic occasionally, too.
• From 2014 to 2016 I discovered the joy and equal frustration with software tools and automation. I tried them all, but didn’t have the confidence to make a sustainable living with any of them.
• Then in February 2017, I founded Messenger Funnels to take my expertise into the chatbot space and take advantage of the emerging marketing tool in order to monetize technical customer journeys and conversations in a real, powerful, and transformative way for my clients. This was my first attempt at breaking free from the “SuperHero Solopreneur Syndrome” by hiring help and buying courses. I finally became humble enough to realize I’m not the end-all-be-all of entrepreneurship.
• In 2020, I acquired Bot Academy from Andrew Warner and designed it to help normie and established 5 & 6 figure entrepreneurs and agency owners transform from simply building B.O.T.s (Building Omni-channel Tools) to becoming the CEO of their business.
• Also in 2020, I created the technical customer journey with the developers at iProelio, the creators of OpenlessApp and Relatable. These are high-end, all-inclusive applicationa to communicate and track engagement on an independent platform. No rules, no shutdowns, just a commonsense business solution. Another lesson in working for “rev-share and stock” for 2 years before I woke up and valued my value.
• At the end of 2021, I created the technical customer journeys again in the world of TaskBots with ZeroWork. This SaaS product allows you to automate the lead generation and relationship building process without restrictions because the TaskBot mimics human clicks and interactions. I directly worked with AppSumo to launched ZeroWork on their platform, and did the same with ProductHunt. I was still in the working for “rev-share and stock” phase at this time, and again woke up in 2024.
• September, 2024 saw me taking a pivotal consulting gig to create the customer journey for a FinTech startup, Planet Wealth, that turned into my first W-2 gig since 2006 as their CXO. A 2 year gig here gave me experience in every part of the startup and C-Suite ecosystem. I worked in Marketing, Sales, Tech and CS departments to drive leads, revenue, client success and retention. What a wild ride until the company ran out of funds in September, 2026.
• In April, 2026 I completed the 5 month Category Design Academy Certification from the Category Pirates. This is where I finally realized what I had been doing all along with my Tech & Customer Journey knowledge and work in demand generation, marketing, sales, technology and client success over the past 20+ years, and where I figured out at long last how that fit in with the word I had developed in 2020 – Uncompetitionable™ during one of my podcast chats for CEO MISCHIEF Maker.
• Now, I’m helping experienced female founders become Uncompetitionable™, then implement the unique category we develop together to become Unmissable to those they serve.

Welcome to my world of functional messiness, which usually includes coffee (and I’m a coffee snob, no apologies), fountain pens, a cat, my retired husband and occasionally a son or two.

When I first purchased the domain that is my name, I felt very weird. You know that feeling like you are tooting your own horn. Then, I thought, “Screw it! Let’s get this party going!”

I’m so glad I did! I have built so many wonderful relationships via my fingers and my computer through MommyLoves, Messenger Funnels, Bot Academy, Planet Wealth and now Uncompetitionable™. These friends from around the world see things through an entrepreneur’s imagination, which is sometimes a bit quirky and mischievous… but, always fun and inspiring.
